The Environment library reaches the three Luau environments Athena works with and the objects the garbage collector is tracking. Use it to read and share globals, to walk live objects, and to find a specific function or table in memory.

Functions

Choosing the right accessor

  • To keep a value between executions, store it on getgenv. The executor global is shared across separate runs in the same VM; a local or a global on your own chunk is not.
  • To reach the game’s game, workspace, or standard libraries, use getrenv.
  • To find a specific function or table, prefer filtergc over iterating getgc yourself. It filters during the walk, so it builds far less garbage and is meaningfully faster for targeted searches.
